Friday Freebie — Pew Report on Social Media Usage 2005-2015

If you haven’t checked out the reports by Pew Research Center, head over and look around. The well-known organization has published a review of the past decade of social media use. Some findings include

  • Social media usage among those 65 and older “has more than tripled since 2010 when 11% used social media”
  • 58% of rural residents now use social media, nearly as high a percentage as those in urban areas (64%), while about 68% of suburban residents use social media
  • The percentage of urban residents who use social media has decreased over the past two years
