As you may know, I offer a tutorial – Get an Online Presence in No Time – aimed at authors, freelancers, and small business owners who understand they need to be on the web, but don’t know where to start.
In my workshops, I can usually count on at least one person saying “But I don’t have time to write a blog” or “How do you find time to post on Facebook?” I always tell folks that no one “finds time” to do something. If you want to grow your business, or find readers for your books, you have to “make time” for it.
That said, the frequency of these questions got me thinking about all of the things a person can do in a short amount of time to promote their business online. So, I have developed a handy set of “Quick Sheets” as a special bonus handout for participants in my Establishing Your Online Presence workshop or tutorial.
The set of Quick Sheets covers six topics: Website Checkup, Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. I have subtitled the sheets “What You Can Do in 15 Minutes to Rule Your Digital Domain,” because if you can’t carve out 15 minutes to promote your business, your business cannot grow.
And a little big of tough love is necessary here: If you’re not willing to spend 15 minutes promoting your business, you need to just admit you don’t want to grow.
No one else is going to promote your business for you, so you have to make it a priority. But it doesn’t have to become a huge time-sink. The Quick Sheets will also help those who are new to social media to not become overwhelmed by it.
If you’ve thought about using the internet to grow your business, but don’t know where to begin, work with me in the “Get an Online Presence in No Time” tutorial. Click here for more information.
